Hold the barcode inside the four corner marks on screen; the camera reads only that rectangle. If the barcode still will not read, use the search button at the top and type the brand or product name.
Product data comes from Open Food Facts, which is maintained by volunteers. Anyone can add a missing product or correct a wrong one, and the change reaches Peelo when we next refresh. Adding a product takes about a minute with their app.
We do not calculate grades. Nutri-Score is computed from the published formula using the nutrition figures on the label, and NOVA is assigned by the classification's own rules. If the figures in Open Food Facts are wrong, the grade will be too — correcting the figures corrects the grade.

Peelo reads printed ingredient lists and tells you when something on your list is named. It cannot tell you that a product is safe: a list can be incomplete, a recipe can change, and cross-contamination is never in the ingredients. Always read the packaging.
Peelo is not a medical device. It reports what a label lists and what public bodies have published about those ingredients. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it gives no dietary advice of its own. For decisions about your own health, speak to a doctor or a registered dietitian.
